How do i find a good Physical Therapist for neck and back pain in my area?
I have neck pain and some back pain so my doctor referred me to a physical theripist, he didn't give me any suggestions just said to go to whichever is closest to where i live. What should i be looking for in a good physical theripist? Also I'm kinda scared since i've never been to one before. What happens there?
I would highly recommend someone with a certification in mechanical diagnosis and therapy. Go to http://www.mckenziemdt.org . If no one is available, I would ask to see someone who has a manual therapy certification. These are some of the most scientifically validated forms of treatment in PT...depending on the "type" of back pain you have.
